Hello,
I design and build online learning systems, including AI tutors, interactive web applications, and custom LMS courses, that prepare professionals for certification and career success. With 20+ years developing educational resources, training programs and scenario-based learning, I combine deep instructional expertise with hands-on development of scalable digital tools. Currently focused on AI-powered projects for professional preparation and language development.
For over 20 years, I have developed professional preparation programs and training systems. Today, I combine that instructional expertise with hands-on development of AI-powered tutors, interactive web applications, and custom LMS courses that prepare professionals for certification and career advancement.
I have designed Online Professional Learning Communities and custom courses using Canvas, Moodle, and LearnDash, and created interactive modules using Adobe Captivate, Storyline 360, H5P, and custom web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP). My educational systems and online learning solutions have been adopted by universities and professional training institutions.
My background includes extensive work preparing pre-service and in-service educators for state certification exams and professional practice. As a consultant, I continue to support institutions with instructional design and professional development programs. This deep experience of bridging theory and real-world application informs everything I build.
Currently, I am building AI-powered learning systems that leverage frontier LLMs through custom API integrations. My projects combine retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with domain-specific embeddings, structured JSON outputs for dynamic content generation, and multi-model architectures that select the optimal model for each use case. These code-driven systems deliver intelligent, scenario-based practice experiences that adapt to learner performance in real time. My doctoral research in Instructional Technology focuses on applying generative AI to enhance professional skill acquisition.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my family and spending time with my two sons playing LEGO, board games, and creating digital projects together.

Highlights from my portfolio of AI-powered learning systems and web applications
Comprehensive preparation system for the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) in Spanish, a state certification exam for bilingual teachers. Includes an online course, full-length practice exam, and custom AI evaluation engine serving 16+ universities and school districts across Texas.
AI-powered teaching assistant trained on professional development workshops and pedagogical content. Deployed in university courses to support bilingual teacher preparation and instructional coaching.
Mobile-optimized web app for the Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS). Instant access to proficiency descriptors, strategies, scaffolds, and sentence stems.
Founded adaptive proficiency platform with dual-axis evaluation: measures both professional competence and target language proficiency through realistic scenarios. Evaluates what users can do in context, not just what they know. Multi-language support for global deployment.
Digital companion to my Spanish-language book for bilingual and ESL teachers, featuring 13 AI-powered tools: ExCEL lesson planner, etymology bridge for Latin and Greek roots, DALL-E visual generator, vocabulary builder, STAAR assessment scaffolder, parent letter generator, background knowledge builder, and more. Each tool applies the book's pedagogical framework to real classroom tasks.
AI chatbot and voice assistant built to support pre-service teachers volunteering as tutors for emergent bilingual K-12 students. The chatbot acts as a more knowledgeable other, helping tutors apply best practices in bilingual and ESL instruction during live homework sessions across a three-institution university-district partnership.
Adaptive learning platform for high-stakes academic English exams (TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS, TSIA2). Uses AI-powered diagnostics and practice modules to assess exam readiness and build the language proficiency required for college-level coursework.
A book in Spanish for bilingual educators that uses Leonardo da Vinci as a model scientist/artist and cultural elements to teach effective strategies for emergent bilingual students. Features an AI-powered web companion with 6 interactive tools.
